Irish TV in association with Enjoy Travel launches “Find a Star” – A brand new music competition which seeks to find the next big Music Star.
Ireland’s first international TV channel, Irish TV, has launched a massive search for the best solo artists, across all genres, in Ireland and the UK. “Find a Star” is a unique and exciting endeavour for the channel, which just recently celebrated its first birthday on May 1st.
The show boasts an incredible prize, with the winning contestant receiving €1,000 plus a one-year working contract with Enjoy Travel, and an appearance on Irish TV’s hugely successful variety of music shows. Entry for “Find a Star” is online through the Irish TV Website, where contestants will be asked to submit a YouTube link to their entry video. The contest is open to solo singers and singer/songwriters over the age of 18.
The deadline for submission is June 5th, at which point all entries will be carefully assessed, with the best going through to the televised shows – to be filmed and broadcast throughout June, July and August 2015.
Different venues across Ireland and the UK will play host to the televised shows, including The Abbey House Hotel and Gardens in Cumbria, UK: Treacy’s West County Hotel in Co Clare: Loughrea Hotel and Spa in Co Galway: and They County Ballroom in Tulsk, Co Roscommon.
Eight contestants will perform per show, and the judges will select the best two to proceed to a public vote. The winner of the public vote will then go through to the finals to compete against the remaining contestants while the runner-up will be entered into a wildcard.
Once all wildcards have been revealed, the public will vote again to save one, and this person will compete in the grand finals.
A full backing band will be provided, but contestants may also use an instrument if they so wish.
Each show will feature three judges, one representing Irish TV, one representing the respective venue, and one musical guest. Robert Mizzell, Johnny Brady, Lisa Stanley, and Phil Mack have been confirmed as the four guest judges, and each will also give an exclusive performance on the show.
“Find a Star” will be filmed and broadcast throughout June, July and August 2015 on the Irish TV Channel on Sky 191. The show can also be watched on Freesat 400 and online at www.irishtv.com in the UK. Irish viewers can also watch on Eircom’s eVision 191 and all Free to Air boxes
